No News is Good News?!

I'm hoping that works the same with hearing the heartbeat....no heartbeat is good news?! Well we (yes I got Joe to come with me, I know he was excited) went to my doctor's appointment this evening. We met in the parking lot at 3:40 for my 4:15 appointment (we wanted to be early-lol). We got into the doctor's office at 4:10 and then I realized my appointment wasn't until 4:30 (preggo brain just doesn't work the same anymore). So needless to say we were there with plenty of time to spare! : ) We were finally seen an hour later and the doctor couldn't find a heartbeat. She was still positive about finding one. But after searching for about 15 minutes, she decided to examine me and see if my uterus was tipped. Unfortunately it was extremely tipped and she tried to lift it some to find the heartbeat. She said she heard a little bit, but Joe & I didn't hear it (but then again we had no idea what to listen out for). So tomorrow I have an appointment for a sonogram, so at least I can see the heart beating. That will be comforting. I'm staying positive about it. Thankfully Nicole warned me about possibly not being able to find the heartbeat, so I was prepared. I just pray that tomorrow we will see it beating. My mom is going to come with me to my appointment. So that's all for now. I will definitely update y'all tomorrow and post new sonogram pictures! Until then keep us in your thoughts! XOXO

Shenandoah with the Family

On Saturday, my mom, Jenny & I drove up to visit Anna for the day. We always spend time together on the "anniversary" (although I hate to call it that b/c it sounds like a celebration, and it's far from) of my dad's death. Usually we go to Washington DC and enjoy the day, but we decided to go west and tour Anna's college. For those that do not know, Anna is in her second year of grad school. She wants to become a physical therapist....an aquatic physical therapist to be exact!

Well, we met up with her at her apartment [thank goodness for GPS : )] and got to check out where she lives in all. It's a beautiful apartment and Anna and her room mate decorated very well! After visiting the apartment, we went to check out her school....that's when my prenatal vitamin got the best of me and I went down fast, having to take a quick catnap in the car, while they checked out the school store. It's a beautiful campus and the physical therapy department was very cool to check out. We even got to meet her room mate and a couple classmates, all who were so friendly! Although Jenny was scared being there, because of her passed with all the physical therapy....it was all too familiar to her : (.

After touring the campus, we decided to eat some lunch at my favorite place, Cracker Barrel (I was madly craving their breakfast....yummy!) Then we wanted to check out the Wine & Hot Air Balloon Festival. It was a beautiful day and my mom & I did see 2 balloons way far away early in the morning when we were driving down to Anna's apartment [although she begs to differ that they were the actually balloons...I'm right though...love ya mom: )] When we were parking (it's on a HUGE farm, so parking it on their grassy and BUMPY land), we asked the parking lady when the balloons were to go back up, and she said they are supposed to go up at 4pm, but they weren't sure they were going to, because it was so windy. So we were disappointed, because that's what we really wanted to see. We didn't care about the wine...I can't drink it and mom had to drive home. But as we were pulling up to our parking spot, we saw these gigantic, beautiful, bright kites flapping in the wind. They were awesome to see. I got a bunch of pictures and that is what you see. It was just beautiful to see.

After the festival, Anna showed us some more favorites in town and then we said our good-byes. We knew we had a long drive back home and mom had a very hungry dog waiting back home. So we left and got stuck in some major traffic....mom, you're a saint for driving that, thank you! The day, besides the traffic, was perfect! I enjoy every moment I spend with my family and cherish it to the fullest. So, sorry it's so long, but we had a busy day! I hope you enjoy the pictures....oh and remember it was very windy-lol!

At first sight!

Well today was my first sonogram. I went by myself because Joe was out hunting (it's opening season for black powder season, so I let him get away with it). I tried to gulp down as much water as they asked me to, although by the time for my appointment came around I could feel all the water in my bladder. I got to my appointment early so I could fill out the paperwork and before I knew it they called me back. Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming, it was probably the best doctor's appointment I have yet to experience. The nurse took my sonograms and dated the baby (her date matched so I was happy) and she told me that she only saw one baby, which is really good news. Before I knew it, I was out of the office at 2:35pm and my appointment time was 2:30pm, so I was thrilled! I can't even get fast food that fast! : )

The dirt!

So as most of y'all already know, Joe & I are expecting our first. Yes I am preggo, knocked up, have a bun in the oven....however you want to put it, that's me! We are expecting baby Hance June 7th (that's the attentive date so far). I have my first sonogram appointment on Friday, so they can date or little bean. I had my first prenatal appointment last week. It lasted 2 hours long. My poor mother waited for me the whole time! But everything went well and it kinda hit me that I am actually growing something in me.
So far (I say that like it's been a while) baby Hance has been good to me. I haven't experienced morning sickness [knock on wood]....hallelujah! Although I'm afraid to speak so soon, so I'll just wait to see what's in store! Even though, I am not upchucking, or as one of my students says "blowing grits", I just can't enjoy food anymore. Nothing sounds appealing at all. This is so unusual to me, because usually I eat like i have a tapeworm in me. But now once I do choose something and eat it, afterwards just thinking of what I just ate grossing me out. I can't think, see, or smell it. Poor Joe has to hurry up and get it out of sight!
I have been so tired, well tired just does NOT express it. I feel like I am constantly getting hit by a Mack truck about 4 times a day. Just when I think I am recharged and my energy level is coming back up, WHAM! I'm out again. I'm guessing I should just be grateful for now that I am not puking up my brains quite yet. On to more symptoms, yeah my girls are sore....like no touching at all, completely off limits hurt! I just want to tape those suckers up till baby gets here. I would content with that, although I'm not so sure it will be best in the long run. Oh and my back has been hurting off and on. Some days I just think I am getting old, and some days I can't believe it's hurting already when I have 34 more weeks to go...yikes! But it's just mild pain, so I just brush it off.
So that's me in a nutshell right now, well in my body to be literal! I hope y'all enjoy this little blog and I hope to stick with it to update everyone for the next 8 months!
